The perfect Shiraz blend of premium de-alcoholised Shiraz and Native Australian Pepperberry. Bursting with juicy red fruits and a hint of dark chocolate. A dry, smooth finish, with notes of vanilla and layered lingering spice.

We gently remove the alcohol from premium Australian wine and blend it with health-giving botanicals to create a complex, delicious non-alc. Shiraz experience. The Shiraz tasting experience is nuanced and layered.  Delicious flavours build in complexity as you sip. We combine the ritual and theatre of wine with the discovery of new natural ingredients.

Serve in a red wine glass. After opening, refrigerate and consume within 2 days.

FAQs

In short – YES!! We start with alcoholic red wine, then gently remove the alcohol (without adding any  chemicals or nasties). This means that it still has all of the health benefits that we often hear about red wine having – those antioxidants, and in particular resveratrol. On top of that, we blend in health-giving botanicals, like Mountain Pepperberry. This Australian superfood is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin E, folate, zinc, calcium, magnesium and more, and has been traditionally for it’s antiseptic properties.

 

You’ll also be glad to know that our Pepperberry shiraz contains minimal sugars (1g/100ml0, and we don’t add any grape juice concentrate. This means it’s low in calories (just 26 Cal. Per serve).

Our Pepperberry shiraz has juicy red berry top notes, supported by a base of native Pepperberry, vanilla and oak. It’s a lighter style shiraz but still pairs nicely with hearty meals like roasts, steak and pasta. While it doesn’t taste exactly like an alcoholic wine (no no-alcoholic wine ever will), we think it’s about as close as you can get. Adding botanicals like Pepperberry gives it a lovely complexity, akin to alcoholic wine.

Our Pepperberry Shiraz has 1g sugar per 100ml and is considered a dry red wine. It’s also low in calories – only 26 calories per serve, compared to around 120 calories per serve for a glass of alcoholic red wine.

We have many pregnant women enjoy our non-alcoholic wines. We pay close attention to ensure our wines are <0.02% ABV (alcohol by volume), which is less alcohol than some fruit juice, or a ripe banana. If you have any concerns, we suggest checking in with your GP.

Absolutely! Alan loves to add some Pepperberry Shiraz to a delicious Bolognese, and I do have a famous Pepperberry Shiraz sauce that pairs perfectly with steak and mashed potatoes. It can also be used to make a delicious mulled wine, or a summer spritz.

Once opened, please close the lid tightly and store it in the fridge for 2-3 days. Bring to room temperature before drinking, or enjoy straight from the fridge in warmer weather. While these are our recommendations, we do have many people enjoy our wines after a week or more.

    Shockingly amazing

    This was my first ever Altina that I tasted. I was so scared because I have come across some very bad tasting non alcoholic drinks . But deep down I always wanted something that tasted like wine. Trust me this tastes better ! I am sooo happy I can enjoy a drink every night after work because that is the time I crave wine the most.

    Closest to alcoholic red I've tried

    I've tried a lot of non-alcoholic wines, and reds are especially awful. The pepperberry in this one adds the extra needed to compensate for the lack of alcohol.

    I think this wine is better chilled, unlike an alcoholic red. I enjoy it better that way. It's a little insipid warm (I live in far north Qld). Very enjoyable out of the fridge.

    Very close to the real thing!

    I've been looking for a non-alcoholic red wine for some time now and I've always been disappointed by the 'Ribena' taste of all that I've tried, that is until I found Altina! My daughter-in-law and I sipped on the Pepperberry Shiraz last weekend and loved it - such a great alternative to regular wine and only 20 calories a glass! I'll be buying a case now.

OUR STORY

MEET THE FOUNDERS

We're Alan and Christina (Al-tina!), partners in business and life.

We used to enjoy a wine (or ten), but cut back for health reasons. We couldn't find a non-alc. drink we enjoyed, so decided to create one. We wanted something that wasn't full of sugars or artificial additives, and something that gave us the same experience as an alcoholic wine.

Christina is our scientist and has a Ph.D. in Plant Science and a Bachelor of Chemical Biotechnology. She's the one behind our innovative recipes and processes.

Alan is the driving force behind our national sales, making sure we're on shelves and menus around the country.

We've been making change in the non-alc. space since 2018 and look forward to helping you find your new favourite non-alcoholic alternative.
